Hey, I’m Adela and my last business was featured in Harvard Business Review.
Adela’s the Founder of Starts Ups & Co and helps founders fall in love with self promotion to sky rocket their sales.
She’s also a management consultant and has 20 years strategy delivery experience in complex client environments around the world.
She worked at Accenture and then a boutique consulting firm called Moorhouse where she focused on company transformations, mergers, acquisitions, product launches and outsourcing deals.
She was then headhunted to work in the strategy team at Sky where she helped Sky launched a new fibre product with two other companies and was on the board of the joint venture to bust any issues.
Adela’s known for her high energy and laser-sharp thinking. She loves solving problems and making stuff happen.
One of Adela’s favourite projects was helping British Airways acquire an airline - it was the fastest airline integration in history and she was proud of the project.
They offered her a job there afterwards but she wasn’t passionate about planes enough.
A few months later she was headhunted by Sky to work in the strategy team. A film and TV fanatic, Adela didn’t hesitate and jumped ship from corporate to industry immediately!

It’s exciting but after a while I was a bit bored of making other people a lot of money.
So I left corporate a few years ago and launched my own fashion tech start up.”
In 2016 Adela disrupted the way women shopped in the UK by using AI and Machine Learning to provide a personalised experience. She designed requirements, managed a team of 5 and launched a successful proof of concept. She acquired 1000 customers across 7 countries in Europe and within 12 months the company was featured in the Harvard Business Review, Sunday Times, Sunday Telegraph and more.
The site was rated as one of the top three best websites for fashion by Sunday Times in 2018 and was and was described by the Sunday Telegraph at The Hellofresh of Fashion.
“I loved that fashion tech company but I needed to raise at least $40million to continue such a complex business and I didn’t want to spend my life being a fund-raising monkey.
The irony is that I now spend a lot of time socially with my dream fashion investors but I know I’ve reached a level of business maturity when I can say that the fundraising merry go round business model wasn’t for me.
The tables have turned in that my investor pals are now pitching to me to lead a new business for them in a different industry…but I love what I’m doing now so the answer is no.”
