Last week I had the most brownie orders I’ve ever had.

I jumped in feeling completely intimidated and out of my depth. I honestly didn’t think I’d make it past day one. But it’s been amazing.

I decided to show up authentically and to my surprise my confidence has grown. Last week I had the most brownie orders I’ve ever had. And I really haven’t done that much yet - just a few simple things inspired by the challenge.

I believe in myself again.

I signed up to the PR Hero challenge feeling a little intimidated but I won't lie, slightly drawn in by the name.

The daily challenges not only tick off that "PR Hero" badge BUT remind me to believe in myself and  my business, give me the opportunity to grow my story, meet incredible co-heroes who are teaching and inspiring me.

I'm not even sorry about the fan-girling. Adela called herself our  DJ, helping us dance but what she's doing is so much more.

I have loved the 10 day challenge.

I have been following along each day and applying as much as possible on my side. I’ve actually spent a lot of time building a new site inspired by the idea to add testimonials and logos but also making it more personal, less ‘sterile’ etc.

Adela, it’s been a massive pleasure and a special thanks for what you have given to so many people over the past few weeks!

— Sara Woodcock, Voiceover Artist

She’s reminded me that my story is powerful, my voice is powerful, that you don’t need to have connections.

I love Adela’s energy. She combines a razor sharp intelligence, a really great analytical mind with great emotional intelligence and people skills. And she’s been fantastic at creating group energy through which we can all feel supported and lifted and inspired. She’s really helped me to regain a sense of confidence and inspiration having felt a little flat and given us lots of practical tips.

Everything I learned from Adela was valuable.

Everything I learned from Adela was valuable. But the two things that really struck me were 1. Her creative thinking and her ability to think of unusual and interesting ways to put your name out there that I would never have thought of on my own.  2. The power of human connection and the importance of kindness and kind gestures. And connecting with others and building those relationships that will eventually set your business apart and make you the type of person that people will want to talk about and work with. It’s been a game changer to think in these ways and I’m so glad I have these tools in my toolkit for my business.

Adela’s challenge was absolutely brilliant.

There were a couple of amazing lightbulb moments for me where I was able to completely reframe the way I saw doing my own PR.

For example instead of feeling that I was hassling or asking for something from journalists. Now I realise I’m assisting them and helping them create content.

A complete game-changer.

Her daily emails were chatty, fun and interesting and her tasks completely manageable.

Again those light bulb moments were just strokes of genius for me. Just brilliant.

— Dr Anna Colton, Clinical Psychologist

Hey, I’m Adela.

My last business was featured in the Harvard Business Review.

12 months before that feature I was drowning, trying to run my business, do FB Ads, network, social posts, blogs and constantly feeling I wasn’t getting anywhere with it. I’d fired 2 publicists because I was running out of money and not getting any tangible results.

I had nightmares about returning to my dull consulting job. And then I realised something. I knew my business better than anyone else. So I decided to focus hard on one thing:

Pitching my business myself to the media.

This is what I achieved in 12 months:

14 pieces of press in publications like The Guardian, Stylist Magazine, and The Telegraph

4 full pages in The Sunday Telegraph worth $150k free advertising

Turned down TV appearances in the Dragon’s Den and press when it didn’t feel right for the business

In 18 months I got my start up featured here without spending a penny:
